How to Run

Third time lucky
So I had melksuur in my muscles (or something like that) and I felt like I was falling apart piece by piece the whole day…
I redid all my measurements before I exercised and I got the following:
BMI: 19.5
Body Fat %: 7.8
Weight: 71.2 kg’s
So that makes a teeny tiny difference but it’s cool – I’ll remember to do everything beforehand from now on.
O ja and my blood pressure is now normal enough to actually reveal it:
106/53mmHg
I’m not sure what it means but it is apparently not too bad (maybe a tad low)..
This is what I did:
| Exercise | Duration | Comment |
| Treadmill | 11 min before
8 min after |
Starting
Cool down |
| Cycle | 11 min | Last minute was cool down |
| Rowing | 5 min | I think I could have gone longer.. |
| Cardiovascular Activity | 11 min | Last min coo down as well |
| Stepper | 6 min | The show you how many stories you climb so I aim for over 20 |
So all seems good for now and I will not be Gymming tomorrow as it’s Lagrotto’s B-Day party! Yippee! I dread the whole school uniform thing though.. It might just bring a flashback or two about all the k*k I caught on at school – in the uniform..
:)
Second
So this wasn’t as bad as I thought it was going to be. I had a beer after work and a cigarette or two. Went round about 8 again and started as planned – on my own!!
So I did 10 minutes of each exercise except the rowing – It simply killed me! So much for likey likey..
I left and hour-and-a-half later quite surprised that I didn’t notice the time fly by..
I had quite a cool discussion with one of the outjies at the place after my stint at all the machines. We did this Health assessment and a few interesting stuff came out of it:
1. I am not overweight (I didn’t know!)
2. I am very unfit (no shit!)
3. I very easily lose my sweat towel as we spent almost an entire minute looking for it!
To the serious stuff:
* Body mass index: 19
Apparently perfect is so between 20 and 21
* Body fat: 6.6%
Is that a good or a bad thing?
* Weight: 70.4kg’s
I really thought it was more – I’ve set my goal weight at just over 80!!
* Height:1.91m
I already knew this for obvious reasons – to gloat!
* My blood pressure was taken after my exercise so the Bunnies might contact me with regards to it and “ways to lower it while leading a healthier lifestyle” (hahaha). I’ll take another measurement before my next ‘date’ and we’ll see if I am still in the red – i don’t think so.
I am surprised the entire thing went quite well on my first day out in the wild doing everything by myself – without the guy in red holding my hand evey step of the way. I’m sure it can only get easier (or is that harder) as I learn more and get fitter! Yippee!
:)
Hello
So that was my first post. I am still alive today (the day after).
Please see my About page for more info on me.
I will add more stuff – like links etc – as soon as I think of something useful.
:)
Ignition
This was at 8pm and I was nervous to say the least. Let’s put it this way:
I have never even been in a Gym before (school doesn’t count) and I didn’t know what to do or where to go so I just stood there like a poephol waiting for the guy that was suppose to show me around and work out my ‘master plan for fitness’.
So what I got was the following (after I told him my entire family history and why I had that cigarette before I came to the Gym that is):
| Exercise | Duration | Comment |
| Treadmill | 15 to 20 min | Speed 4.0 – 9.0 km/h |
| Cycle | 15 to 20 min | RPM 85+ Level 3-6 |
| Rowing | 5 to 10 min | 30s*/min (strokes?) |
| Cardiovascular Activity | 5 to 10 min | Level 3-6 |
| Stepper (Moderate) | 5 to 10 min | Level 5-7 |
So over-all for today I did only 5 minutes of the first 4 WARM-UP Exercises and I was pretty much dead.
Dude said I will probably only feel it after two days. I hope not.
So ya, I am posting this late because my home internet is slow – even Google takes almost a minute to load.
My notes on the activities:
Treadmill: This was quite cool as it is pretty much like walking and then we pu the speed up to nine and my heart gets racing and and I feel like I’m running a marathon..
Cycle: If I concentrate hard enough at the TV in front of me I don’t feel the pain in my legs.
Rowing: I actually like this a lot even though keeping it at 30s/min was very hard.
Cross Trainer: This was weird because I think I am too tall for the machine. This worked my stomach so bad I thought I was in a boxing ring with Ali.
Stepper: I don’t know what the point of this is but I makes me very tired!
All of this was just for 5 minutes and tomorrow I have to try the minimum of the times above – let’s hope I survive. :)
